Nalaganje Dogodki

Dr. Isla Fishburn’s Canine Functional Characters framework, inspired by the work of wolf biologist dr. Gordon Haber, offers a way to understand dogs beyond breed classifications. It identifies functional roles—such as Observer, Follower, Guide, Defender and others—that reflect a dog’s natural instincts and tendencies. By recognizing these characteristics, dog guardians can communicate more clearly, support balanced behavior, and promote overall well-being of the dog. This approach encourages a deeper understanding of dogs and fosters attentive, harmonious human-canine relationships.

In May 2026, we will be hosting a 3-day workshop on Canine Functional Characters with dr. Isla Fishburn at Pohorje Village Wellbeing Resort in Slovenia. During the workshop, you will gain practical insights into canine behavior and functional personalities, with opportunities for discussion, observation, and hands-on learning.

This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to learn about a framework that supports a deeper understanding of canine behavior in both personal and professional contexts.

A 3-day program is as follows:

Friday, 22 May – Theory of The Canine Functional Characters | 10:00–17:30, with a lunch break in between
Two coffee breaks will be included for all participants, free of charge.

Saturday, 23 May– Practical Workshop I | 10:00–17:30, with a lunch break in between
Put theory into practice and gain hands-on experience observing and applying the Canine Functional Characters framework by working with 8–10 different dogs.

Sunday 24 May – Practical Workshop II | 10:00–17:30, with a lunch break in between
Continue the practical application of the Canine Functional Characters framework to deepen your understanding and refine your skills.
